part 2: BTN & Christmas

ok as promised. report.
i was in london from the 20th to the 24th of December. menghadiri kurus bina negara anjuran BiroTataNegara. ehek..am i that goody to actually be there? ehek..of course la tak.. were there bcos our ticket is paid for. i make some great friends.. mostly juniors [sad to say..ehek..]. all 7 of us[including munir] was spread into the 5 groups. so more or less we know whats going around with all the groups. was reunited with my favourite guy in London..AZMI!! he attended BTN with a superb reason.. malas nak masak! what a reason..dude!!??? nasib baik makan sedap! we had chicken, meat, fish, egg and vege for lunch and dinner.. sedap n banyak! apa pun.. kitaorg berjaya make Azmi the penghulu.. and also make him the president of our small club! [one of our way to entertain ourselves.. 'sapa nak perjuangkan nasib kita nyah????' ehek..]. conversations with Azmi..no matter what the topic is or was.. will always turn to be somewhat academic! and Sal..at one time menjadi ahli forum yg bertajuk Pemimpin. hehehe..lucky it was Sal..the one with things to say! and not me.. the thing i like the most about BTN this time round was.. the 6 of us gather for supper..will discuss some of the arising issues and voice our thoughts.. share some of the most interesting views.. [sapa kata budak TESL tau socialising jer??? ehek...]

thats the social part.. the more geeky part is.. on one bright afternoon, we in our BTN group [mine was group 3: funny how each of us have at least one relation to the number 3...for eg: im the 3rd child] went out to do some field work. the task was to talk to some foreigner about Malaysia.. and get them to sign our piece of paper. so there i was.. join forces with Bun.. it was after lunch time. 2.30pm.. one block next to Bayswater Tube Station..

'excuse me sir! do u have a minute?'
'do you know Malaysia?'
'would u like to visit Malaysia? what do you think it looks like?'
'do u know its so beautiful and peaceful? do u know that we have some of the best beaches and modern cities?'
'have u heard of the Petronas Twin Tower? do u know where it is situated?

so there we were. me and bun..trying to get as many signature as possible. we take turns to boost each other confidence. in the end we manage to get 7 altogther. i didnt get any negative experience. the worst was 'sorry love, i dont have change'. huh? aku tau la aku miskin.. tapi tidak la mengemis.. huhuhuhu... after that field work. we went to Perfect Fried Chicken. celebrating our enriching experience. that night was real.. we report back our experience to our cool facilitator.. Faisal. a young guy[compared to other facilitator. i never get to decide wat to call him. abang sounds too young for him. pakcik sounds too old. encik sounds too formal.he have a wonderful great life experience that really amaze me to the max..] everyone had different experiences. some are great..some are bad.. so now we know what people think about our Malaysia...

'i dont want to go to Malaysia bcos its a Muslim country. i will get caught by the police and get beat up.'

so its up to us. Malaysian students in UK to change this views about Malaysia. yup and the TYT Duta M'sia to UK did said in his opening speech that we are Duta Kecil of Malaysia. ehek..

our London trip was end with a makan2 in PFC with Azmi..where he so proudly gave a closing speech. then..we all rush to Oxford and Azmi had to rush to Birmingham..

so off we go to Oxford. we arrived around 5pm and it was dark. we had to get some food for the next day. All the shop will be closed on Christmas.. and we didnt get the chance to buy anything. On Christmas day.. we walk down the famous canal.. there are so many people living on boats there.. spend half the day along the canal. then..walk back to the city centre..which was awfully far. hungry n cold. stop at some of the different schools of Oxford Uni. had a chance to peek at the huge Uni Garden..went to the famous bridge where Oxford Students jump off on a summer's day. [its some kind of tradition thingy...]. bcos daylight was short.. we couldnt cover much. but we had fun!! Oxford was lovely...

that night. once again we had maggie for dinner. and the owner of the hostel [happen to be his family is gathering there for christmas.] host a dinner party that night. an awful lot of food. and the king prawn!!!! nyum nyum... so they invited us to have some of the food. they offer us the seafood..and salad and pasta.. and cheesecake! ohhh... it was all lovely!

that night all of us sleep early with full tummy..as we have a very long journey the next day..
